The building is a late C18 provincial town house in classical style, built of red brick in Flemish bond with a slate roof with stone copings and stone window dressings. It is double pile in plan with a projecting gable end wing at the rear and a later back addition. The building is of 2 storeys with cellarage and slightly asymmetrical 3 bay façade. The windows are 8/8 sashes with block stone sills, those on the ground floor have stepped grooved voussoirs to the flat arches. The central 6 panel door has a distinguished door case of slender engaged Doric columns with open bracketed dentilled cornice and semi circular fanlight. This composition is surmounted by a painted moulded stone cornice with stuccoed parapet. There are 2 axial brick stacks. The right reveal is of 2 bays with a C21 extension.
The decorative scheme is continued and contains a late C19 6 panel door with classical door case of pilasters and entablature with panelled insets. The left reveal is plain. The rear is of 3 bays with projecting gable end wing to the north, all with similar window dressings. To the south there is a C19 back addition with irregular fenestration and mono-pitched roof. Internally, the plan form survives as well as some door cases and the body of the stair. An ogee pendant frieze to the landing fascia is also present.
