C17 timber frame cottage, converted in early C19 to picturesque
lodge in Cottage Orne style. Lath and plaster infilling,
rendered and faced with panels of industrial clinker and glass,
the panels delineated by courses of broken china. One bay,
square plan, with curved upper storey projecting on 7 columns on
S and W sides, the columns also clad in clinker. Coved cornice
faced with twigs, and patterned twig surface to soffit of jettied
upper floor. Small-pane, segmental-headed metal casements, those
of upper floor in eyebrow recesses. Early, wide-plank door with
scrolled hinges. Modern extensions on N and E.
