This is an early post card view of St. Matthew's Parish Church, Eastbury Road, Oxhey, courtesy of the Terry Trainor Collection, looking south-west, around 1912. For almost 140 years, the banded, Early English spire (with thin layers of Portland Stone) has been a notable landmark on the Bushey/Oxhey/South Watford landscape. The red bricks came from a local Hertfordshire company at Leverstock Green, near Hemel Hempstead.
