NY 52 SE GREAT STRICKLAND GREAT STRICKLAND

adjoining barn

Farmhouse and barn adjoining. Farmhouse early C19 with C18 barn. Farmhouse has
cement rendered walls, under-graduated greenslate roof with rebuilt brick
chimney stacks. Barn has calciferous sandstone and limestone walls, under
graduated greenslate roof. 2-storey, 3-bay house with lower right 5-bay barn.
House has central panelled door and overlight in painted stone surround. Sash
windows with glazing bars in painted stone surrounds. Barn is partly domestic
with left C20 door and C20 casement windows in painted stone surrounds.
Remainder of barn has flat-headed and segmental-headed doorways; one flat-headed
loft doorway and one with a Tudor arch. Regularly-spaced upper-floor slit
vents. Included for group value with Sunnyside. Right-angled byres are not of
interest.
