Chest tomb. C17. Sandstone. Thick flat top to moulded edge, sunk panels with
enriched moulded surrounds, base sunk at time of survey, September 1983. Remains
of inscription on top, and good inscriptions in all capitals; to daughter of William
Smart, 16..8. One of two very fine early monuments, c 2 metres north of monument
to William Smart (qv).
