C18 or earlier remodelled in early C19. 2 storey timberframed plastered
building with slate roof. Formerly 2 rooms in line with central chimney
and baffle entry. Extended to E-plan fronting road with N wing extending
to rear with lateral chimney. Projection on rear wall may be base of old
lateral chimney. Front plastered with bargeboards to gables of projecting
wings. Projecting plinth. Panelled pargetting renewed. Flush boxed sash
windows 4/8 panes over 8/8 panes. Recessed centre has similar window to
each floor and 2, 6-panel doors with moulded architraves under a 3 bay
timber verandah. Single storey slate roofed extension to S. Interior
Gd floor has chamfered cross beams to centre and cased beams to N wing.
Cellar under S part. Moulded dado to bar in N wing. Picturesque roadside
inn.
