House. C16 or earlier. Hall floored and chimney inserted c.1600. Timber
frame on black stuccoed sill, roughcast with steep half-hipped thatch
roof. A 1½ storeys former open hall house of 4 bays facing W to the
road, but entrance now by boarded door under gabled porch at S end.
Internal chimney a third from S end. 3 windows on W front and a dormer
at eaves. Small 2-light flush casement windows (renewed). Similar window
on each floor at S end. Exposed wall timber inside. Early window remains
in W wall. Curved wind braces to clasped purlin roof. 4-centred doorhead
c.1600 cut into partition to N end room. (Bailey (1980)23).
