House. C16 or earlier. Hall floored and chimney inserted in C17.
Restored in C20. Timber frame roughcast with steep half-hipped thatch
roof. A long, 5-bay, 1½ storeys house facing W with internal chimney a
third from S end and later gable chimney added to N end. W front on
roadside has 4 windows and 2 dormers at the eaves. 2- and 3-light flush
casement windows with leaded glazing. Battened door in middle with a red
brick bulge of an oven to RH. Flat-laid rafters visible at eaves.
Interior has evidence of former open hall, with slots for braces in bay
posts in S bay flanking inglenook. Butt ends of cut-off tie-beam above,
and at back of chimney a fragment of tie-beam and one supporting brace.
