Barn. C17. Timber frame on red brick sill, dark weatherboarded with a
steep pitched half-hipped roof now clad in corrugated iron, but formerly
thatched. A tall 5-bay, single-aisled barn facing E with rear aisle and
double doors to the middle bay. Pitching door to right of doors. Low
double-doors cut into wall to left of doors. Jowled posts to walls,
arcade and aisle, mid-height rails jointed in-line, long curved braces
to tie-beams and arcade plate. Clasped-purlin roof with collar - and -
queen-strut trusses, extra collar at mid-bay, aisle purlin carried on
back of a curved brace rising from the aisle-tie to the back of the
arcade post. Separate rafters to aisle.
