House. Circa 1700, W parts 1970's. Timber frame on black stuccoed plinth
in older part. White weatherboarding and thatched roof with 4 eyebrow
dormers at front. Red tiled gabled rear wing and lean-to W porch set
back. A long 16 storeys, 3-cells plan house facing S. The older E part
originally had a winding stair beside the then W gable internal chimney
with its breadoven, and a single large ground floor room with narrow
service room at E end. Central entrance and 2 front windows with dormers
over. The oven projected to W into a barn, now replaced by a matching 2
dormer W extension with a door and end window. Flush 2-light casement
windows to dormer and E part. 3-light window to W part. Iron door to
oven, and axial beams in E part. (Bailey (1980)19).
