Village pump and railings. Early C19 by 'Turner, Dorset Street,
Fleet Street, London' (pedimented raised plate on base). Cast
iron public pump facing W. About 2 metres high in the form of a
stepped octagonal pier with plinth, moulded base, a lower section
with a heavily modelled animal headed spout with foliate collar,
a taller upper section with lancet sunk panels with sunk
spandrels, a moulded cornice and ogee cap. S-shaped cast iron
handle on S side has oval terminal with projecting horns. Cast
iron railing around contemporary but much reduced in extent.
Fluted uprights and spearheads. A fine architectural public pump
in the Gothic style. At the centre of the village street in the
middle of the Conservation Area.
