Block of 5 houses. Early C18 for Samuel Pilgrim, altered early
C19. Timber frame roughcast with steep old red tile roofs.
Slate lean-to at rear. Central chimneys upper parts in stock
brick. A 2-storeys continuous row adjoining The Pilgrimage on E
and facing S. Nos 1, and 2 formerly a handed pair, No 1 extended
one bay to E. No 4 was possibly a similar handed pair. Nos 5,
and 6 higher and more regular frontage with flush box sash
windows with 6/6 panes, moulded architrave and 4-panelled flush
headed doors with similar architraves and small hoods. Similar
doors on Nos 1, 2 and 4 and casement windows generally but 8/8
paned sash to left of door in No 4 and one 6/6 paned sash on each
floor of E extension to No 1. A picturesque group with Pilgrims
House, next the village inn.
