Range of farm buildings. C15, C16 and C17. Timber framed on low brick sills, dark weatherboarded. Steep pitched roofs now of corrugated iron, half-hipped generally but hipped stable. An L- shaped range facing S consisting of C15 5-bay double-aisled barn at the E (W end bay converted to granary with cartshed below in C16); a C16 4-bay unaisled barn adjacent on W; and a 3-bay C17 stable at right-angles running S from W end of 4-bay barn. The tall aisled barn has opposed central double-doorways under lean- to roofs, heavy jowled posts with long curved square-section braces to tie-beams and the arcade plates which have edge-halved scarf-joints with bridled butts and 2 face pegs. Aisle-ties have jowled end and passing brace from reverse-assembled aisle wall to back of arcade post. Similar expanded ends to rails and curved tension braces in partition enclosing granary in end bay. Inclined queen-post clapsed-purlin collar roof. Short spur walls and sill plates to carry bases of arcade posts. Granary only as deep as nave of barn, with heavy axial beams to upper floor and also to loft over. Lower 4-bay barn has double doors on S in 2nd bay from E, with lean-to extension at rear opposite the doorway. Heavy jowled posts and double-curved tie beams supported by deep curved braces. Curved tension bracing in low walls. Heavy inclined queen-posts support clasped purlin in each slope. Edge- halved scarf joint with bridled butts in wall plate. Moulded offset to heads of doorposts. Late C17 3-bay stable with unjowled posts and door in middle of E wall. Curved braces to straight tie-beams. Clasped-purlin collar roof. Face-halved bladed scarf joint in wall plate over post. An impressive group of historic farm buildings.
