House. C17 or earlier, brick cased in C18, W end part c.1960. Timber
frame on brick sill, exposed in N gable of crosswing, red brick infill
and casing, steep old red tile roofs hipped at junction of wings. An
L-shaped house facing S with a 1 1/2-storeys main range and low 2-storeys
and cellar E crosswing projecting only to N. Internal chimney at
junction of wings with lobby entrance. Stack on ridge to W marks extent
of old house. S front has 4 gabled dormers at the eaves and 4 ground
floor casement windows under segmental arches. Single large gabled
dormer on N slope of roof. E side of crosswing has 2 windows on each
floor. Framing exposed on N end has jowled posts, cambered tie-beam,
collar and clasped-purlin roof, and red brick infill.
