27.5.68 Gardens at St Paul's Walden Bury)

8 similar pedestals. C18. European. Carved limestone. 8 similar carved
stone pedestals set around enclosing hedge of open-air theatre. About
1½M tall. Rectangular base with chamfered angles. Reduced foot rising to
swelling body still rectangular on plan with carved foliage to chamfered
shoulder carried over as volutes to front, flanking a central carved
Rococco assymetrical spray. Reduced neck widening to moulded top slab to
support a lamp. Plain back with sinking.
