Town End Farm and outbuildings to right and left

House. Mid C18; attributed to John Carr of York. Brown brick in Flemish
bond, Roman tile roof. 2 storeys, 3 bays: 3 giant round-headed arched
recesses, with impost band, rise through full height of house. Central door
of 6 raised and fielded panels with overlight with glazing bars, flanked by
16-pane sashes with sills, all under flat gauged brick arches. First floor:
12-pane sash over door and 16-pane sashes to ends all with sills under
segmental heads. Modillion brick eaves cornice, end stacks, plain close
verges. Outbuilding to right is of single storey. Square on plan with
round-headed arch with impost band to front elevation. Modillion brick
eaves cornice. Pyramidal roof. Boarded opening with sill. Outbuilding to
left of similar elevation with altered opening. Modillion brick eaves
cornice, hipped roof. N.M.R. Photograph.
