SCULPTED FIGURE OF WOMAN IN MOURNING WITH HEAD BOWED AND SUPPORTED BY LEFT HAND. LAUREL WREATH IN RIGHT HAND. FIGURE CLOTHED IN LOOSE ROBES AND SANDALS. FIGURE STANDS ON PLINTH IN FRONT OF CENOTAPH. "1914" AND "1918" IN RELIEF EITHER SIDE OF FIGURE. INSCRIPTION ON OPPOSITE SIDE OF CENOTAPH TO FIGURE.TO THE/ HONOURED/ MEMORY OF/ MEN WHO WENT FORTH FROM THIS/ PLACE AND FELL IN THE GREAT WAR/ (NAMES) ALSO THOSE WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE WAR OF 1939-1945/ (NAMES)/ TRANQUIL YOU LIE, YOUR KNIGHTLY VIRTUE PROVED/ YOUR MEMORY HALLOWED IN THE LAND YOU LOVED .
