HIGH BICKINGTON SS 60 20 15/65 Garden walls and gateway - approximately 2 metres to south of Beechwood House

GV II

Garden walls and gateway. Early C19. Uncoursed stone rubble walls with roughly dressed battlemented coping, and some cob on top at east end with C20 clay-tile coping. Walls retaining and enclosing garden to south of Beechwood House (q.v.), returning south at east end, and stepped back to the west with gateway in return, and returning to south at west end. Wall ramped up to gateway with pair of square stone piers and pair of C19 cast-iron gates with dog bars and dog rails. Well below retaining wall reached by flight of stone steps. Small opening in wall at top of steps with stone lintel and small wrought-iron gate.
