14/59 Pair of Lodges at southern edge of
Princetown on B3212

Pair of lodges. Probably circa early C19. Granite rubble walls, rendered to one
lodge. Pyramidal slate roof and central axial granite stacks.
Plan: Pair of identical lodges, square on plan. 4 rooms with central stack serving
fireplaces in their corners.
Single storey. Identical pair each has symmetrical 2 window front of 2-light
casements with 4-centred arched heads and intersecting glazing bars at the top. The
southerly lodge has a flat-roofed C20 glazed porch and the other lodge has an
earlier rendered porch with hipped roof unlikely to be original. To include
identical granite rubble garden walls to front of each lodge.
Each lodge is situated on opposite side of the Plymouth road leading into
Princetown.
