Cottage. Late C19-early C20. Granite stone rubble; granite stacks with late C19-
early C20 brick chimney shafts; thatch roof.
Plan: T-shaped building. The main block faces south and has a 2-room plan with end
stacks and central entrance hall and staircase. 1-room plan rear block projecting at
right angles from centre. 2 storeys.
Exterior: nearly symmetrical 2-window front of late C19-early C20 casements with
glazing bars. Front doorway just left of centre contains a plank door with a fixed
pane window alongside containing a geometric pattern of leaded glass. First floor
windows have thatch eyebrows over and roof is hipped each end. Rear block is gable-
ended.
Interior not inspected.
Thorn Cottage is one of a group of varied listed buildings which make up the hamlet
of Thorn.
