Large farmhouse. Circa 1850-60. Snecked local mudstone with ashlar quoins, plinth
and chimney shafts; slate roof.
Double depth plan house under parallel roofs facing south. Each range has the
principal rooms each end with lobbies, stairs and passage between. End stacks. 2
storeys.
Symmetrical 1:2:1 window front comprising mostly 12-pane sashes under segmental
arches. The central bay breaks forward a little. It contains the central doorway,
the original 6-panel door and panelled doorcase with fluted consoles carrying a
small hood. It is flanked by round-headed fixed pane windows. Unusually deep
projecting eaves and front has the original cast iron gutter with lions head masks
over the joints. Both roofs are gable-ended and the chimney shafts have hollow-
chamfers to the soffits of the coping. The rear elevation is flat with a 4-window
arrangement, also 12-pane sashes, and at the left end a full height canted bay
window containing 12-pane sashes.
Interior modernised circa 1960.
