Barton farmhouse, now used for holiday accommodation. Probably C18 origins
remodelled in early to mid C19. Unrendered stone rubble. Hipped slate roof with
large stone rubble stacks heightened in brick at each end and impressive stack with
pronounced batter to end of rear service wing.
Plan: principal room to each side of central stairhall, with right-angled 2-storeyed
kitchen wing to rear left side forming L-shaped plan, with service outshut added
probably in C19 in the angle to rear of right-hand room.
Exterior: 2 storeys. 3 window range. Symmetrical. C20 fenestration but in C19
style. 3 light casements flanking 2 light casement, all 6 panes per light. Timber
lintels to upper storey, slightly cambered stone lintels to ground floor. Gabled
slate roof to central stone rubble porch with segmental pointed arched doorway. 4
panelled inner door with segmental pointed overlight.
Interior: Not inspected.
