House, formerly farmhouse. Mid-C17 with earlier plan form. Plastered cob and
rubble; brick stacks and slate roof, formerly thatch. North gable end rebuilt in
C19 brick. 3-room and through passage plan with inner room to left (south). 2-
storeys throughout with four rooms to first floor. Newel stair turret projects at
rear (west) of hall. Faces east. 4 window front. C19 door to passage. C20
French windows to hall. Iron casements to outer rooms and C19 casements on first
floor. Few original features exposed; ovolo-moulded ceiling beam to inner room,
hall fireplace at upper end (brick and oak lintel chamfered with scroll stops), and
double door frame at stairhead is chamfered with ornate scroll stops. Inner room
has C19 brick kitchen fireplace backing onto hall. Other early features are
probably hidden.
