HORSMONDEN LAMBERHURST ROAD TQ 6840-6940 (east side) 6/58 Tudor Cottage and Penhall Cottage GV II

House now cottage pair. Probably C15 and extended C16. Timber framed and part exposed close studding with plaster infill, part rendered on red brick ground floor. Plain tiled roof. Three framed bay Wealden hall house in origin, extended 1 bay to the west. Two storeys with jetty to left return, the Hall bay now to centre left and the recess infilled, still with large arched braces carrying eaves. Hipped roof with gablets, the ridge line stepped up to end right bay, and stacks to centre left and at end right in catslide outshot. Three 2 light wooden casements and 3 light to centre on first floor and 2 five light casements to left and 2 two light with glazing bar sash to right on ground floor. C20 rib and stud door to centre left in raking porch and boarded door to rear right. Catslide outshot to rear.
