2 adjoining cottages. Late C17 or early C18. Rendered stone rubble and cob.
Thatch roofs with brick ridge stack and rendered stack at right end.
2 single room cottages, no. 1 to left has lobby entry with winder staircase beside
rear side of stack, no 2 has cross-passage with stairs to rear.
2 storeys. Each cottage has 2 window range. No. 1 has two 4 paned sashes above
sash with margin glazing bars and plank door to right. C20 outshut to rear with
corrugated asbestos roof. No. 2 has 2 horizontal sliding sashes, 6 panes per light
above two 2 light casements 6 panes per light to right of porch with slated gabled
porch with shaped bargeboards. 4 panelled door, the upper panels glazed. Painted
quoins to all the openings.
Interior of No. 1 has 6 panelled doors to inner lobby and original winder
staircase. Chamfered ceiling beams to both cottages. No access to roof space but
original trusses appear to survive.
