NY 21 SE BORROWDALE ROSTHWAITE

20/51 Yew Tree Farmhouse

Farmhouse. Late C17 with C18 and C19 additions. Whitewashed slate rubble
walls, under graduated greenslate roof with rebuilt roughcast chimney stacks.
Extensions have painted roughcast walls. 2 storeys, 3 bays with single-bay C19
extension to left under common roof and rear 2-bay C18 extension, forming
overall T-shape. C20 door within recessed porch, the original C17 studded oak
door fastened to the side wall of the porch. C20 ground-floor leaded-paned
windows and smaller firewindow to left; fixed-pane casement windows above, all
windows under wooden lintels in original plain reveals. C19 extension has C20
casement windows. Rear extension has casement windows with glazing bars and
small ground-floor firewindow to left. Interior has C17 stone chimney breast
supported by firebeam on corbels. Panelled C18 doors.
