LODDISWELL VILLAGE CENTRE
SX 74 NW
5/110 Jubilee Cottage
II

Detached cottage. C17 or early C18. Limewashed or rendered rubble and cob,
thatch. Original plan not discernible through later modifications, but probably
cross-passage 2-room heated each room; the external stack to the south gable may
have been internal to a former extension or adjacent building. 2 storeys,
2-window front with 3-light horizontal bar casements at each level and central
stable-door under thatched hood; back has deep 3-light over 2-light and French
doors. Left south gable has stepped external stack, raised in brick; at the
base a former fireplace to a segmental arch, and above this a small square
recess. To each side a 2-light casement at each level. Gable stack to right
end; extension not of special interest. Interior: is much modified, has heavy
bressumer to right room fireplace. No original stair. Roof not inspected.
Said to have been rebuilt after a fire.
