2. Earlier C19. Part of a terrace comprising Nos 46 to 50 (even) (qv). Roughcast facade with very wide, bracketed eaves. Slate roof. 2 storeys and 1 modern dormer cut into roof. 2 windows, sashes with segmental arches and glazing bars intact on lat floor, late C19 glazing ground floor. Door with panelled pilasters and small flat hood.

Nos 38 to 56 (even) and No 40A form a group (of which Nos 42 to 46 (even) and Nos 52 to 56 (even) are buildings of local interest).
