Ashlar; three storeys; three sash windows, the outers of three lights, in moulded architraves with cornice hoods on consoles; plain sill bands; quoins at sides; moulded wood doorcase with rectangular fanlight, and portico with coupled Tuscan pilasters, entablature and cornice surmounted by an open balustrade; two wood mullioned three-light sash windows to ground floor (no glazing bars) with moulded architraves and shallow pediments on consoles; modillion eaves cornice; blocking course; end gables with stone copings and stacks. On right-hand side a slightly later two-storeyed wing having one window above, and two below minus glazing bars.
Nos 4 to 14 (even) and Former Wirksworth Maternity Home form a group.
