ST 82 SW STOUR PROVOST STOUR ROW

3/159 St Nicholas Close

House, probably of C17 or earlier origin but largely of C18. Coursed
rubble, whitewashed. Gable-ended thatched roof. Brick stacks to ends
and part-way along ridge. Central stack appears to be of early
brickwork. 1½ storeys, approximately 6 window range. 2-light case-
ments with glazing bars under wooden lintels. Part-glazed C20 doors.
North-wall bears hollow-chamfered string course. Dormers to first
floor.
