Cottage, now Inn. Probably C17 (RCHM) with C19 and C20 additions and
alterations. Rubble, brick and rendered walls, hipped thatched roof with central
brick stack. End brick stacks probably later additions. Single storey with
attic. Fenestration: mainly C20 wooden casements with glazing bars. To the
north is a C19 stable range of coursed squared rubble with a half-hipped thatched
roof. 2 sets of plank double-doors. Internally there is a fireplace with
chamfered jambs and bressummer and a deep chamfered ceiling beam. Newel staircase
beside fireplace. Exposed wind braces in attic. "RCHM, Dorset Vol III HMSO, 1970
