Barn and linked cow byre. Barn mid C18, Cow byre C19. Barn, timber framed and
weatherboarded. Red brick plinth. Corrugated. iron clad roof. 3 bays with
central gabled midstrey. Double vertically boarded doors to midstrey. Straight
bracing to long walls, side girts to end walls. All principal timbers pegged.
Side purlin roof with clasping collars. Original braces to tie beams replaced
by C19 nailed braces. Halved and bladed top plate scarf. Frame complete apart
from some softwood replacements in west gable. Date 1765 is scribbled at foot
of midstrey storey post. Cow byre with red brick end bays to north and 4 open
bays to south. Red pantiled roof. Vertically boarded door to north gable end.
Hill Farmhouse is not listed.
