House, now part of commercial premises. Probably C17 refronted
C18; C19 and C20 alterations. Timber-framed clad in red brick in
flemish bond, stuccoed; C20 interlocking concrete tile roof. 2
storeys, 1 bay with single-storey rear outshut added C17. Plinth;
platt band. On left, step up to 6-panel door in reveal with
wooden architrave having fluted pilasters and console-bracketed
canopy. Boarded-up window on right, and above it a late C19/early
C20 small-paned wooden casement. Interior: timber frame,
principally visible in original rear wall and on 1st floor has
jowelled wallposts, mid-rail, wall-plates, studs, and tie beams
with vertical posts supporting collars; the right-hand truss is
a double one (probably indicating that No.1 was built adjoining
a pre-existing neighbouring property on its right); boxed spine-
beam on ground floor, some old floorboards. The adjoining
building, No1 Park Road, is not a building of special
architectural or historic interest.
