Bust on plinth. C18. Stone. Tapering plinth with bust of bearded
Homer. The bust was given to William Cowper, the poet, by his
nephew John Johnson and was originally in the garden of Cowper's
House, Weston Underwood before its removal to the Wilderness. The
plinth has inscribed a greek quotation from Homer and below, a verse
by Cowper.
