Pair of cottages with attached shops. Mid C19, For the Thorp Arch estate.
Coursed, squared magnesian limestone, Welsh slate roofs. 2-storey, 2-bay
reflected pair with shops in 1-storey, 1-bay side-wings. Cottages each have
a 4-panelled door and plain overlight on outer side of 16-pane sashes with
projecting stone sills and plain lintels. Oversailing eaves; central yellow-
brick ridge stack with 6 separate octagonal flues. Shop in wing on right has
part-glazed door with blind overlight on left of large 6-pane sash with
wooden side pilasters. Shop in wing on left has similar door on right of a
large 8-pane casement window with wooden cornice; octagonal brick end stack
on left.
