of Childhay Manor
Farmhouse

GV II*

Barn. C16 or possibly later. Ashlar lias stone walls on a hard
limestone base with chamfered plinth. Stone gable-copings with
moulded apex-blocks. Slate roof. Gable walls in fine graduated
courses of stone. Chamfered loops in the east and west gables.
2 sets of through-doors, with straight-chamfered jambs and carved
wooden lintels of Tudor-arch form. Interior: roof-construction
of raised jointed crucks,with collar-beams, 3 sets of through-
purlins, slightly chamfered, and a diagonal ridge.
