Detached house, said to date 1607 (RCHM) with much subsequent alteration.
Timber box frame with square panels with some refacing in brick and brick
infil. Thatched roof, hipped right with brick stacks along ridge left and at
end of ridge right. 2 storeys, irregular fenestration. One and 2-light
casements, some with leaded-lights. Near central C20 glazed door. Internal
features (RCHM): original staircase with close string and turned balusters.
A much larger house than is common for the C17 in this area. (R.C.H.M.
Monument 12. Dorset Vol V).
