Cemetery lychgate. c1800, rebuilt on new site c1950. Four Ionic columns supporting
a pedimented timber canopy, with moulded entablature. Carved swags in pediment.
Modern stone walls inside this structure contain panels from the Obelisk (Map
Ref.4/187 ) inscribed in English and Latin. These record that the Obelisk was
erected in 1781 by Captain John Houlton in memory of James Frampton.
