Detached cottage. Original section dated, on porch, EB 1677; altered and enlarged
c1920 and c1975. Rubble stone walls, stone slate roof. Stone stacks sited irregularly
in ridge. Informal L-shaped plan. Part 2-storeys, part one storey and attic.
Original block at left end of main range, of one storey and attic. Gabled porch at
left end, has ledged door in 4-centred arched opening. Ground floor has 2 casements
with horizontal glazing bars. Attic has 2 hipped dormers with similar casements.
Right of this, former barn raised to 2 storeys and incorporated in house c1920.
2 ledged doors. Ground floor has one casement with glazing bars. 2 similar case-
Rents on first floor. At right end, a projecting gabled 2-storeys wing added c1975
in matching construction. In original block, main ground floor room has large open
fireplace with curved timber lintol and some re-used moulded jamb stones. (RCHM,
