House. C18 or earlier. Probably timber framed but with red brick front and
west flank to Cage End. Of 2 storeys with gabled steep pitched slate roof with
2 gabled dormers and large central stack. Front and flank are red brick with
some grey headers and have moulded brick eaves cornice, rubbed brick string
course, flat window arches and high plinth. Front has 3 double hung sash
windows with small panes over, 2 similar windows and central early C19
pedimented doorcase with console brackets and reeded frieze. The door is of 6
panels, the upper 4 raised and fielded. The flank elevation has 2 recessed
dummy windows over a similar doorcase, with flight of stone steps and one
similar double hung sash. This return front also has a lower 2 storey rendered
block with gabled concrete tile roof and 2 entrance doors.
