House. Early C16, altered in C20. Timber framed, plastered with weatherboarded
dado, roof thatched. 4 bays facing W, with axial stack one bay from left end,
and C19 internal stack in right bay. C20 single-storey extension with flat roof
to rear. One storey with attics. 4 C20 casements, and one more in gabled
dormer. Door at front of C20 gabled porch. Roof half-hipped at right end. The
interior has jowled posts, curved tension bracing trenched inside heavy studs,
chamfered axial beams, plain joists of horizontal section supported on pegged
clamps, original rebated floorboards. 3 diamond mortices of an unglazed window
in right return wall. Roof originally of crownpost construction, rebuilt in
clasped purlin form. RCHM 28.
