Lobby entrance house, late C17, extended in C19. Timber framed, plastered with
chevron design in panels, roofed with handmade red clay tiles. 3 bays aligned
NW-SE with axial chimney stack in central bay, originally forming a lobby
entrance, now blocked. Lean-to extension to SW, weatherboarded with roof
of corrugated asbestos. Single storey with attics. Weather-boarded dado, 2
C20 casement windows, 2 more in swept dormers. Converted to 2 cottages in C19
and doors made in side elevations, still in use although now re-combined into
one. Axial beams over ground floor rooms, plain chamfered with well-cut
bar stops in NW room, plain in SE room. SW wallplate re-used from
an earlier building, with rafter seatings on side. Tiebeams waney, of irregular
curvature. No other framing exposed interna.lly.
