Circa 1863. Part of Rev. W. T. Sankey's improvements. No 23 has a polygonal corner.
1 1/2 storeys, 1 window each. Coursed rubble with brick dressings, quoins, plinth
cap and eaves modillions. Tiled roof, hipped to Russell Street. Central brick
stack, ridged at side and with ornamental coursing at capping. No 23 white washed.
3 light lancet windows, with blocked heads on No 23. 2 light casement dormer to
No 24, flush to front; similar dormer at rear of No 23. Small single storey extension
tiled in angle with rear extension of No 24, which has tumbled brick in chimney.
Pointed doorways with plank doors. No 24 on street, No 23 at rear.
Nos 3 to 17 (odd) the Massonic Hall, Nos 2 to 24 (even) and the stable building
adjacent to No 2 form a group.
