GV II

Inn, late C16, or early C17. Gable end room to west, of
original three unit plan rebuilt in C18 and in mid C19. Clunch
with modern tiled roof and local brick ridge stack to right
hand; painted C19 brick and hipped slate roof. Early building
one storey and attic; two gabled twelve-paned hung sash dormer
windows, two half-glazed doors to right and left hand with three
windows of varying sizes with glazing bars, two have late C18
panelled shutters. Two storey cross-wing with two side stacks.
One first floor twelve-paned recessed hung sash window and
canted bay with hung sash windows and flat roof at ground
floor. Interior has original double ovolo-moulded axial beams.
Th Fox was first recorded as an ale house in 1764.
