Cottage).
GV II
Farmhouse now a house. Early C16 with late C17 or early C18 additions and
insertions. Timber-framed and plastered with thatched roof. One storey and
attic. Rectangular planned red brick ridge stack and end stack to left
hand. C20 porched entrance in original lobby entry position. Six ground
floor windows include two horizontal sliding sashes and one C18 three-light
iron casement window with leaded lights. One garden door to left hand. Two
dormer windows. Original three unit plan with open hall of two timber-framed
bays and with a collar-rafter roof, extended by two units to left hand and
one to right hand in late C17, with inserted and replacement floors to
original building . Inserted stack in hall with two hearths each with ingle
nooks and shaped heads to two niches. Kitchen hearth to end room with
blocked opening for baking oven. Chamfered ceiling beams.
