House and shop. Two building periods. House C18 of local red brick, Flemish
bond on sandstone rubble footings with tiled roof and red brick, square ridge
stack with rebuilt upper courses and recessed panel to the front. Original
plan altered by C19 gault brick lean to domestic range at rear and shop
extension at north end. Two storeys with three brick plat band returned to
the south end wall. Cambered arches of header bricks to two flush frame
twelve pane hung sashes. Similar arches to two ground floor twelve pane,
early C19, hung sashes. Two steps up to baffle entry doorway under gauged
brick arches. Modern door. On the north the house was extended in the late
C18 or early C19. Red brick, tiled roof. Two storeys. First floor has a
hoist opening with boarded door and a twelve pane hung sash. At ground floor
the mid C18 arch remains from a window similar to that above, and a modern
shop window inserted. Original doorway opening and modern door. Inside has
been modernised. Formerly a bakery.
