23/155 Manor Farmhouse

GV II

Farmhouse. Possibly early C17 with C18 and late C19 additions and
alterations. Timber-framed faced with gault brick. Plain tiled and slated
roofs. Red brick ridge stack with rebuilt grouped shafts and gault brick end
stack to left hand. Two storeys; original three unit plan altered by
rebuilding of end unit to west, raising the wall height and introducing a low
pitched hipped roof over the end bay. Steeply gabled two storey porch to main
entrance with late C18 or early C19 panelled door. Three ground floor
horizontal sliding sash windows in segmental brick arches and one canted bay
window to west; three first horizontal sliding sash windows and one
twelve-paned hung sash window. Interior: Stop-chamfered ceiling beams and
exposed wall posts.
