Barn. Late C18 - early C19, with alterations 1976. Coursed rubblestone, pantile
roof. Openings elliptically-arched with projecting keystones, quoins supporting
iron pins from which doors were hung, and projecting stone sills to pitching doors.
Slit vents set on 2 levels, one above the other, upper vents with pointed heads.
North (yard) front: 4 bays. Cart-entry porch to bay 3, formerly half-hipped
with oculus over cart-entry (photos held by owner), now pent-roofed with front
wall projecting to either side and having wood-lintelled entry with corrugated-
iron double doors hung by old iron strap hinges. Vents to other bays. Half-
hipped roof. Rear: left-hand corner rebuilt 1976. Tall, opposing, blocked,
cart-entry. Between vents to right, board pitching door with vent below. Left
return: board pitching door; bird-hole with perch to gable. Right return: 2
sets of vents flank pitching doorway (door removed), above which is vent and
bird-hole flanked by triangular-set pigeon-holes with ledges. Interior: loft
to right-hand end. Splayed reveals to vents. 8 queen-strut roof trusses with
2 tiers of staggered butt purlins, raking wind braces and plank ridge piece. Late
C20 covered yard attached to left corner not of special interest.
