8/156 House 150m to north east of
- Allenbrook

House, now empty. Possibly mid C18 partly remodelled in mid C19. Stone rubble and
cob, partly rendered. Slate roof with gable ends, projecting stone rubble and cob
stack with brick shaft on left-hand gable end and brick stack on right-hand gable
end.
2 room and central cross passage plan with stair in passage, hall/kitchen on left-
hand room heated by projecting gable end stack and parlour in right-hand room, heated
by end stack.
2 storeys almost symmetrical 2-window front. Entrance near centre with circa C19
plank door. Circa late C19 2-light casements on ground and first floor. Outshut
extension on right-hand gable end.
Interior with slight circa mid C19 ceiling beams, C19 framed stair, stove in kitchen
fireplace in left-hand room and C19 cast-iron grate in fireplace right-hand room.
