TL 2579 UPWOOD AND THE RAVELEYS LITTLE RAVELEY

18/78 Porch House

II

House. Mid-late C17 with C19 roof raise. Late C20 renovation and addition. Timber-framed plaster rendered and C19 roof of red pantiles. Mid-late C17
ridge stack. Single range three bay lobby entry plan. Two storeys with two first floor windows including a horizontal sliding sash. Three ground floor windows. Circa 1670 porch. Timber-framed, plaster render incised in imitation of stone and tiled gable roof with shaped bargeboarded end. Blocked side walls but gable end has pointed arch with keyblock, on demi shafts, pierced spandrels, and side lights with symmetrically turned mullions. Inside: Abutting inglenook hearths of limestone, reused, and brick.
Early-mid C17 run through panelling reset round one inglenook and overmantel
in five bays of arcading divided by fluted pilasters. Despite alterations the wall frame at ground and first floors remain substantially intact.
